Giuseppina Cantarella

Giuseppina Cantarella graduated in 1992 in Medicine and Surgery cum Laude at the University of Catania; in 1998 she obtained the specialization in Clinical Pathology and in 2003 the PhD in Immunopharmacology. Prof. Cantarella spent several years at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, at the Molecular Biology laboratory headed by Prof. David Wallach as Research Fellow (1997-1999) and later as Visiting Scientist (1999-2002). From 2002 to 2006 she was Researcher in Etna Biotech Catania, start-up of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Bern Biotech. In 2006 she held the position as Researcher through 2014 and since then she held the position as Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the Department of Biomedical and Biotechnological Sciences; in 2017 he obtained the national qualification for the role of Full Professor in Pharmacology. She is Author of several publications in international peer reviewed journals.
