The Irene
Paterniti's scientific research focused on the study of the mechanisms of
neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation, common to many neuronal pathologies.
The research is aimed to understanding the different mechanisms that drive
neurodegeneration, characterized by inflammatory cells, their mediators and
oxidative stress at the level of the central and peripheral nervous system, in
brain and spinal cord trauma and in brain tumors.
The aim of Irene Paterniti's
research is to elucidate all the key aspects of brain cancer, studying the
possible molecular targets for the development of biosensors for therapeutic
monitoring.
